Bowed Basement Walls

services_foundation-repair_bowed-basement-walls_thumbBowed Walls is another problem that can wreak havoc on your foundation. Soil load, combined with under designed foundations, results in the outside pressure being directed towards the middle of the foundation wall. The solution? Added support is needed in order for the outside pressure to be dispersed throughout the entire wall.

There is no easy fix. In fact, commonly used Systems like Wall Tie Backs, Beams (Stationary / Power) and Dig & Push do more harm than good, ultimately breaking and crushing the concrete block. Even carbon fiber systems such as Sheets, Plates & Kevlar Weaves* do little to fix the problems because they do not secure to the sill plate or floor where the major problem areas occur. This results in a lack of support, causing the outside ground pressure to shift to the top and bottom of the foundation wall. This force ultimately causes damage resulting in more repair work needed.

*Kevlar Weave system does secure to the sill plate, but movement still occurs resulting in damage. This system does NOT secure to the floor.

Patented Rhino© Carbon Fiber Wall Supports have proven to be the strongest system on the market, linking the foundation base with the house framing! A galvanized bracket is used to fasten the carbon fiber to the sill plate and secured to the foundation floor with a carbon fiber pin. Deterioration does not occur Securing the carbon fiber system to the foundation wall allows for an even distribution of outside pressure, and guards against any deterioration.
